Playdate Café has Closed Indefinitely

To our customers, colleagues, partners, and friends,

We regret to inform you that Playdate Café has closed indefinitely as of today, December 8.

PDC has been funded by real estate investments that are no longer generating revenues due to our poor economy and tenant bankruptcies. Likewise our sales have been greatly affected by the economic crisis. We saw a dramatic decline in sales beginning in October when the credit meltdown occurred and even with winter upon us business has been slower than during the summer months.

We would like nothing more than to see a play cafe remain in Marin - as fellow parents of young children we believe in this great resource for our community.
We are keenly interested in any form of investment or acquisition that might make that happen. Our future roadmap includes new operating models and service offerings to achieve profitability in the current economy, however we lack the financial resources required.

We are forever grateful to all of you who generously embraced PDC. Please inform your friends and family to prevent visits from anyone not aware of the closure.

We would love to hear from you about anything and will try and respond as best we can. Our website will remain operational and you may contact us through the suggestion box page (link below), or you may email us directly at info@playdate-cafe.com.

We wish your family the best and a joyful holiday season,
