No. Adults and pre-crawlers are free.

Six and under.

Do I have to buy a membership?
No. The majority of our customers become members because of the significant savings and special benefits. However, we are not exclusive and offer day passes for families to try it out and for families who visit only periodically.

Is someone going to watch and/or supervise my child(ren) in the play area?
Customers remain responsible for the care and conduct of their children at all times.

Do adults also have to remove their shoes in the play area?
Yes. The play area flooring can be easily damaged, especially by adult footwear and weight. The material is specialized and fall protection rated product that's very expensive and difficult to replace.

What about rentals? Birthday parties? Meetings? Baby showers?
We will launch our cafe rental program in the next few months. We know many of you are interested and your event date is fast approaching. We're working on it and will announce it via email to all PDC e-mail subscribers

If I am a member, do I have to buy a pass for my child's friend when I bring them along?
Yes. Memberships apply per family so children from other families must pay separately. This also applies to caregivers with children from multiple families - where the parents typically purchase memberships for the caregivers to use.

What are your holiday hours/days?
Please check the calendar to see the days we're closed or have different hours. Generally, we're closed only on the major holidays.

Do I have to make reservations? In general? For events?
We do not accept reservations for normal visits, classes, and most events. If required, it will be indicated on the event listing. For parties over 10 people, two-day advance notice is required, email info@playdate-cafe.com.

Are you a nut free establishment?
No. We use nuts in a number of  menu items. We can prepare many items without nuts and offer almond butter but we cannot ensure any items we serve are free from nuts for highly sensitive people.

Do you have gluten free options?
Some menu items are obviously gluten free and for others just ask the cashier or manager.

May we bring our own food?
No. It's a health dept. violation for customers to consume outside food. Likewise, just like any other cafe or restaurant, it's inappropriate.

May we bring our own toys?
No. Our toys are child-safe, clean, age-appropriate, and reflect the parenting values we adhere to. Any personal toys should remain packed away, or better, left in the car.

Can we eat in the play area? Just the adults maybe? Or just drinks?
We don't allow any food or drinks in the play area. It's really important that we keep the play area clean and sanitary. Adults are expected to ensure their children don't wander off with food in hand as it will end up in the play area.

Do you have a lost and found?
Yes. It's located just to the left of the recycling and trash receptacles.

Will you ever open earlier or stay open later?
We have tried different hours in the past and will certainly other hours. If you would like to visit at different times please let us know - and please indicate how frequently you would realistically visit - email us: info@playdate-cafe.com

When are your busy hours?
Typically mid day and to a lesser degree mid to late afternoon. 1 to 2:30 is usually quite as it's nap time for younger kids and before school is out for the older kids.

What if I bring an older sibling?
Children over six may not use the play area. They are welcome to visit as adults would but are expected to remain out of the play area.

May I just do my own small birthday party while you are open?
We will soon be offering a cafe rental program for parties. Otherwise we encourage group get-togethers, however guests must adhere to our standard policies for all customers, meaning guests may not bring: outside food (including cake), decorations, tableware, toys and gifts, goodie bags etc.
Such items can impact other customer's experience or pose, safety, health, undue burden or staff concerns.

May I bring my friends for free if I am a member?
Members are granted two free coupons to use when accompanied by a guest family. Click here for more info.

Can I get a discount if we arrive a little bit before closing time and only have 30 to 45 minutes to play?
No. Like any restaurant or cafe, prices are not discounted for guests that arrive right before closing. Rather we encourage guests to allow at least an hour for children to play and have the full experience we strive to provide.

Where can I get info on your classes and events? And is it up-to-date?
Check out our online calendar! You'll find every class and event and it's always up-to-date. Check here first before planning your visit as printed flyers represent what we offer but are not always exactly up-to-date.
